Crazy times for Cole Grifter. We sent our Habit video off to Much Music a while back and they agreed to play us on Much Loud, the biggest rock music TV channel in Canada. We are on rotation there, playing 9 times a week. If you have a television with Much Loud, watch it all day because chances are you will see Cole Grifter at least once! If you don't have Loud or a TV, go out and get it. The best part is, now that we're on a Much channel, it will be way easier to get on all kinds of fantastic radio stations! We're looking forward to getting heard more and more and this is a major step. Thanks to the amazing folks that helped us make the music video- this is really an great accomplishment for all of us. The video was made entirely by volunteers because they believed that the song and the band, along with the talented cast and crew, had a shot at making something worthy of getting play on Much Music. Goal achieved. Bring on the next one!

Zone Band of the Month Showcase: July 29th at the nightclub formerly known as Evolution

Evolution is undergoing some major changes. Their doors are closed, and when they re-open they will have a new look and a new name. Not only will our Zone Showcase be the first show at the updated venue, but also it will be a sweet show with three kick ass bands. Year of the Rat is opening the show, and will have their debut album for pre-sale (album release is later that week). I've heard it and it kicks ass. Cole Grifter will take the middle slot with over an hour of rocking, including guest performances, premiering new songs, and a HUGE special surprise that you won't believe. Closing the night is our friend Char with her new band and new upbeat sound- a fantastic performer you'll want to stick around to see.

 February 15th, 2010:

A lot has happened in the last couple of weeks. We released our debut album, which is now available for download on iTunes, Rhapsody, Napster, and many other online retailers. For a physical CD copy of the album, email us directly at colegrifter@gmail.com

We also release the habit video, which you can see on the home page of this site. We had a big party at Felicita's last weekend to celebrate the video and album release, with Johnny Galactic and Isobel Trigger. They were awesome, we were awesome, the video- awesome. The best part was the crowd! I've never heard a louder or more enthusastic crowd in Victoria, other than at big stadium shows. It's raised the bar high for our next show. We're working on an acoustic set which we'll be showcasing around Western Canada in the coming months, along with our usual rock show.

Last big thing that happened was getting Cole Grifter merch. Check out the Store link at the top of this page to see what sort of Cole Grifter clothing we have available. More designs are coming soon.

February 4th, 2010:

Wow! Just finished watching a rough draft of our new video for Habit and it's better than I imagined. Chris Ruffel has done an excellent job as well as all the other amazing people we've had helping us (too many to list here!). We're all being kept in suspense about the final finished version of the video, so it looks like we might be as surprised as the rest of you come Saturday night at the Release party at Felicita's.

More good news is that the Ashton Combdon Benefit raised a ton of money for a great kid. With ticket sales, silent auction, and generous donations, they've just about reached their $30,000 dollar goal!

January 15th, 2010:

Yesterday Lea Kirstein came down to Infiniti Studio to play her cello for two songs on the album. This was the last piece of the puzzle for recording. Last week Dallas Budd (Velvet, Naked Ear) came out to record some spacey guitars for The Grifter, our song about Cole. These fantastic guest musicians have really added to our album's sound. Can't wait to share it with you! We'll be putting up a preview track of one of the new recordings soon.
